The Account of Monte Rolo

“I am someone who absolutely hates haircuts. I have all my life. If I could, I’d let my hair reach

my shoulders. I have never found anyone who could cut my hair in a way I’d be satisfied with.

Thankfully, Rolo of Ortahaus in Houston is the one and only person I trust to be my barber.

Why? Well, because he listened to me when I said the words I just expressed. Before making

any sort of move, he waits for my direction. Unlike a lot of other hairstylists, Rolo doesn’t

predetermine a client’s haircut just because it looked well on someone else. His artistry and

professionalism are in making the client’s vision come to life.

What I’m also appreciative of Rolo for is his dependability. If he can’t be available, he’ll honestly

tell you so (although it is a rarity). However, when Rolo tells a client yes, he sees that “yes”

through. That’s right, even if certain arrangements need to be made for the client’s sake.

Often, I know what I want my haircut to look like, but I have difficulty in describing it. Rolo,

thankfully, is patient and kind. If I need to search for the type of cut online (which is constantly

for me), he replicates perfectly what is shown.

Rolo is the sort of barber that befriends, consults, and delivers… every time.”
