Ortahaus Barber Co. Goes Pro at LIV Golf Houston
When we started Ortahaus Barber Co., we knew we wanted to make noise in the grooming world but we didn’t expect to be cutting fades for the biggest names in pro golf. That’s exactly what happened when we got the call to partner with LIV Golf during the Houston Invitational, held June 7–9, 2024, at the iconic Golf Club of Houston.
Originally, we were booked to be on site for two days to provide haircuts for the players. But let’s just say, when the fades are sharp and the vibes are right, plans tend to change. After the first two days, players were personally asking LIV if we could stick around for one more. And of course, we did. Here’s a look at the experience from behind the clippers.
Setting Up in the Locker Room
This wasn’t your typical barbershop pop up. LIV set us up right inside the player locker room, giving us front-row seats to the action behind the scenes. Our team of three barbers brought the full Ortahaus experience: precise cuts, clean lines, and good conversation.
The locker room was buzzing all weekend, players popping in for quick trims, catching up between rounds, and the occasional debate about who was next in the chair. We had everyone from Sergio García to Dean Burmester to Bryson DeChambeau sit with us. It was one of those moments where you’re working, but also just soaking in the energy of something big.
Dustin vs. Bryson: The Fade-Off
One of the funniest moments of the weekend? It had to be when Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau were both trying to get in the chair at the same time. At that moment, only one of our barbers was available, and let’s just say it turned into a light hearted showdown.
They were going back and forth, playfully arguing about who deserved the cut first. Spoiler: they both got handled eventually. But seeing that kind of camaraderie and competitiveness, even over a haircut, just showed how real the chemistry is among these players.
Highlights from the Course
Of course, the weekend wasn’t just about clean cuts, it was about incredible golf. Friday through Sunday delivered some electric moments. Bryson came out strong with powerful drives that had the crowd holding their breath. Sergio kept things classy and consistent as always. And the Houston crowd? They showed up.

At Ortahaus, we’re used to working with professionals, from executives to athletes to artists. But getting the chance to serve world class golfers during one of the biggest tournaments of the year? That was different. It validated everything we’ve built.
We weren’t just giving haircuts, we were part of the experience. The players appreciated our craft. LIV’s team treated us like pros. And most importantly, we had fun doing what we love in a high energy, fast-paced environment.
